URBAN NEUTRALS

I’m having so much fun exploring the use of ‘Simply White’ in color palettes. This is another great example of things you can do with this creamy white hue. I love how the white creates a soft contrast with the natural red tones of the brick wall. Just gorgeous! The rest of the palette consists of maple, ivory, cool and warm grays and black tones with just a slight bit of dark green. So, how do you recreate a look like this in your own home? Here’s what I would do…

Start the look off with a honey maple flooring. Layer this with an ivory jute rug used to anchor the furniture arrangement. For the walls, go with a concrete-look gray wallpaper and an exposed brick accent wall. There are lots of brick patterned wallpapers out there if you don’t want the mess and permanence of a real brick install. For the furnishings, select a collection of creamy white, cool gray, black and metal pieces. Then, finish off the look with a large banana plant for the pop of dark green.
