The ‘faux white taxidermy’ trend seems to still be going strong. I keep running into these animal heads everywhere I go. Now, I have to admit that I have mixed emotions about this trend. For the post part, I love it. But, you really want to be careful with your use of these in your designs. If not done right, they can come off as being tacky and just plain wrong. I tend to like these best when they are on a plain, dark background so they pop in a classy, modern way. The Small Gemsbok above is one of my favorites. It has such an elegant shape to it, don’t you think? I also came across the little vintage buck figurine that would make a great companion piece. Throw in a few dried branches and cinnamon sticks for a touch of warmth and you’re good to go. Can’t you just smell that wonderful cinnamon now? Aaahhhh, so nice.

So, what do you think of the faux white taxidermy trend? ….Love it? …Hate it? …On the fence? Have you included one of these in your own home decor? If so, I’d love to see what you’ve done. Drop me a note and don’t forget the pictures!
