These days, it seems like the whole world has gone navy. I don’t mind, it’s a classic color that’s always been a favorite of mine. Especially when used with white and tan tones. With this newfound popularity in navy blue, I’ve been exploring ways to work this color trend back into my life.
It just took one glance at this navy floral dress to spark some ideas for a nautical living room design. Here’s what I have in mind. White walls with light pine flooring and a navy striped rug or two. I’m picturing a jute rug or some other form of natural fiber rug to add to the nautical feel.
Then, to create more of a modern living room vibe, I would go with a tan leather sofa with clean lines and an Eames style chair for additional seating. A round coffee table and woven side table complete the furniture arrangement. But, we can’t forget the best part. The navy floral pillow that will adorn the sofa and add the perfect color accent to the room.
These are the pieces I used to create the Nautical Living Room mood board above…

I just love the way the navy pillow looks against the tan leather of the sofa in this design. It’s, by far, my favorite part of this look. But, the glass globe pendant light and blush pink pillows with subtle striping are also gorgeous. What’s your favorite part of this living room?
