I have this vision in my head of what my dream kitchen would be like, with granite countertops, an exposed brick wall, and brass fixtures and fittings to name just a few of the beautiful features. It’s the kitchen I would have if money were no object. This dream kitchen of my mind looks nothing like my current kitchen. We moved in to our house about 5 years ago and overall I really like it. The bones are great but some of the finishes just aren’t exactly my style. The kitchen is rather traditional with cherry cabinets and way too much beige for my taste. We can’t really afford to do a kitchen remodel at the moment. So, for now, I’m going to indulge my need to re-design this space with a mood board.
The style of my dream kitchen would best be described as vintage modern. Let me walk you through the design. The walls will be a white subway tile with a patterned floor in a soft black and white combination. The base cabinets will be a dark hunter green and floating wood shelves will be used as wall storage. For the appliances, vintage style pieces will be used. I have my eye on a white Smeg refrigerator (I’ve always loved those) and a stainless steel and black gas range. I would use black adjustable wall sconces over the floating shelves and a golden brass pendant light over the sink.
Here are the pieces I used to create the ‘Vintage Modern’ idea board…
1.Retro Refrigerator| 2. Coffey Pendant | 3. Floating Shelf | 4. Vintage Style Range | 5. Adjustable Wall Sconce | 6. Hunt Club Paint | 7. Tudor Charcoal Tile | 8. White Subway Tile
Of course, I had to add a nice long mood board for the Pinterest crazed folks like me.
1.Mission Bin Pull | 2. Adjustable Wall Sconce | 3. Vintage Style Range | 4. Floating Shelf | 5. Coffey Pendant | 6. White Subway Tile | 7. Tudor Charcoal Tile | 8. Hunt Club Paint | 9. Retro Refrigerator | 10. Roman Shade
If you’re just interested in the ‘Vintage Modern’ paint palette, I have you covered too.
