It’s a gorgeous blend of burnt orange with just the right touch of brightness. If you’re looking for a delicious accent color to liven up your home, this hue could definitely do the trick. Now, I know orange can be a challenging color to work with, especially one as feisty and bold as this one. So, let’s take a look at some ways you can work this spirited color into your interior in the most beautiful ways.

The key to pulling off this tricky color in an interior is to be intentional with the proportion of the bright orange compared to the other colors in your palette. I really like using daring colors like this as accents, sprinkled sparingly throughout a room. It’s a great way to add a pop of color to an otherwise neutral space. If you choose to go this route, you’re going to love the burnt orange product roundup I put together for you. Now, for the good stuff. The eight ways you can add this energetic shade of orange to your home. You can get totally different results in your finished rooms depending on which approach you take. So, have a look through these ideas and maybe give one of them a try.

1. A Burnt Orange Pillow or Burnt Orange Throw Blanket

This is one of my favorite ways to add accent colors to a space. A burnt orange pillow on a neutral sofa can really liven up a room. Or, a burnt orange throw blanket draped over an accent chair. That could do the trick too. I’ve fallen in love with this Kantha Quilt I found on Etsy. (It’s the one I included in the mood board at the top of this post.)

2. A Burnt Orange Rug

Here’s another tried-and-true way to work this uplifting color into your room. The boldness of this shade of orange would bring a pop of color to any seating area or hallway. Even better, place one in your entry foyer as a cheerful welcome to your home.

3. Burnt Orange Decor for Shelves, Mantels and Tabletops

Like I said before, a little dab’ll do ya’ when it comes to this bold hue. Just placing a small burnt orange decor piece in a room can be all it takes to totally transform the vibe. Try adding this fun orange with decorative books, woven baskets, wood beads or a gorgeous serving tray. The decorative books are my favorite. But, there are so many possibilities, you could really get creative with this.

4. Kitchen and Dining Decor Pieces

A colorful orange bowl or plate can really liven up a table arrangement. It’s a great way to add a touch of happiness to your dinner party. Serving trays and napkins are other ways you can work burnt orange into your dining room. You could also display these items on open shelves in the kitchen to add a pop of color in there as well. Oven mitts also look great in this cheerful shade of orange. There are so many options. So, have fun with it!

5. Burnt Orange Bathroom Decor

A tiny sprinkle of this color in your bathroom can really liven up your morning routine. Burnt orange towels and wash cloths can add a playful vibe to the room. Or, something smaller like a make-up bag or soap tray could be all you need. Play around with it and see what you like.

6. Burnt Orange Furniture Pieces

Here’s where things can get really fun! Find a burnt orange sofa that you love and make it the focal point of your living room. Now, you really have to love this shade to do this. Because, upholstering your sofa with it is a big commitment. If that’s not for you, maybe consider a burnt orange accent chair, stool or side table instead. An accent piece like that would be easier and less expensive to replace.

7. Burnt Orange Paint

How about painting a tired piece of wood furniture in this zesty color? An old dresser, hutch or side table would look great in burnt orange. Any piece of wood furniture would be a good candidate for this fun little makeover. You can transform a piece you already own or purchase a beat up item from a thrift store, flea market or garage sale. There’s plenty of cast aside furniture out there just waiting for a fresh start in life!

8. A Color Palette That Coordinates with this Accent Color

When working with burnt orange, the rest of the color palette is important to get the result you want. This color doesn’t play well with just any color out there. It’s picky like that. Orange is such a bold color that it can be overwhelming when paired with other bold colors. So, I like to combine it with whites, creams, grays and other neutral tones. Black can work sometimes too, but careful not to go to ‘Halloween’ with it. It can also look pretty with a light blush peach, like I did with my Peach & Cream Paint Palette. A peach and cream home paint color palette and mood board that coordinates with bright orange decor. Colors include bright orange, light peach, warm brown, ivory white, bright white, cool white, creamy white, light tan and gray brown. Coordinates with gray brown wood and white marble finishes. I could go on for days with ideas for styling your home with burnt orange decor. Wallpaper, accent walls, even painting your ceiling with it (that’s a fun one!). But, I don’t want to glaze your eyes over with too many choices at once. So, let’s stop here for now. I hope you’ve enjoyed this post. Happy designing!
