I’ve been exploring the use of chocolate brown in interior design lately. It’s not a color I naturally gravitate towards. It conjures up images of my home and the icky brown shag carpet in the 70s house I grew up in.
So, with this in mind, I’ve been pleasantly surprised to find lots of fresh, new designs with chocolate brown that I absolutely LOVE! It turns out, when you pair this dark brown with grays, whites and lighter, camel brown colors, the result is simply stunning. So, what does it take to get this look for yourself? Let’s explore the options…
Start the design off with a light gray, driftwood style wood flooring. Pair this with cool gray wall paint and white trim. Add a dark navy blue accent wall that leans on the gray side with black and white wall art in white frames. For the furniture, put together a collection of gray, white and camel brown pieces with nickel and black accents. Include at least one boldly printed black and white fabric in the space. Add just a touch of chocolate brown to finish off the look.
